Dear Whirlers,
The absence of weekly whirls has been noted by several of you. I backed off after receiving hateful threats from a few trump supporters who write here periodically. I will not share their names, and I will not ban them from posting here.
My apologies for my silence, but my world was shaken. trump encourages evil. Even poets succumb.
The Whirl will continue this week. May the light of your work remove blinders from the ignorant and mean-spirited few.
Early words will no longer be offered. I’ll post late on Saturdays, or early on Sundays. Keep your words whirling.

I am so glad you are well! I cannot believe what happened. You should be able to block people. Stay strong.
When people suddenly drop below the radar I always think Covid. Delighted to know you’re okay.
How dreadful for you! I’ve missed your challenge so will be glad to see it return tomorrow.
Could you not block those that have been offensive?
Why not block them? They should not dominate your life ever.

Though I haven’t done Wordle in a while, I still get the email and keep promising myself to return. I’m so sorry that you’ve had to deal with hateful people. It’s hard to fathom that poets can use such a beautiful mode of expression Igor such negativity and meanness. Welcome back, and by the comments, you see that you’ve got lots of supporters.

Oh that’s so messed up to be receiving hateful threats. Some people are just horrible and I’m sorry you had to go through that. Ready to “Whirl” when you are.
Oh Wow, I’m so sorry to hear this, can hardly believe it–but pretty much everything that’s happened in recent years seems unbelievable… I had feared you were terribly ill, so was praying–this is essentially as equally bad as serious illness.
