This week’s words came from Lone Wolf, by Jodi Picoult. I started the book on Thursday. They were quick picks from one of the first chapters. If you’ve read it, I hope Luke survives. Don’t tell me!!!
The Whirl was busy last week. Holy cow! We had over 40 participants. If any of you newbies want to subscribe to the early words, send me an e-mail with “early words” as your subject. If you’ve already done that, and nothing happened, do it again, I likely lost your e-mail during that nasty time when WordPress sent out too many comments….I deleted emails indiscriminately in my frustration. Welcome, we’re glad to have you here. The diversity of writing among us is amazing, when you consider that all of our Whirl pieces come from a common word bank.

The Sunday Whirl 
Yes! Finally someone writes about eating foods.
I know I’m late to the party on this one, but I’m working backwards and working the Wordles as i have time.
Here’s my effort –
I finally banged something out for this prompt…nothing more frustrating than a non-cooperative muse! And it sounds like mine follows much the same gloomy theme as many others…
I am a new follower…I think. I love writing prompts.
These words turned out to be the perfect vehicle for a poem I wanted to write for a friend. Thanks once again for the opportunity!

I’ve used a similar exercise with writing students to help free them up a bit from preconceived notions about how and what to write. As I said in introducing this first Wordle post on my blog, I’m not used to putting “raw” words out there, but maybe a little risk is good. I enjoyed it. I’ll be back for more!
I absolutely love that you got these words from that book which I also just finished reading … in a way I’m glad I didn’t know that before I wrote because I would’ve written a different poem entirely. On the other hand … I love writing about wolves … Mine, like viv’s has doom written all over it, as she so eloquenty puts it. It’s a beautiful, sunny morning here in the bay area. Will be going swimming later today, so I have some time this morning to read. Looking forward to reading some dark poems apparently – which mine might be included in as well.

Thanks Brenda!- I am interested in that book – I need things to read for an upcoming surgery, The words took off in a gallop for me and then stopped to graze. Sometimes my wordle seems to fall asleep.

It’s not even 8:30 Sunday morning here in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico and already there are 19 links up! I’ll probably get around to writing–and linking–later in the day (it’s a fine list of words this week), but in the meantime, I’ll savor a few offerings from others. After all, savoring is what vacation is all about! 🙂
