Wordle 26 ~ A Baker’s Dozen

Happy Anniversary Wordlers,

This is week 26, the half way point to a full year of wordling. In honor of the anniversary, I selected this week’s words from one of my favorite writers, Sherman Alexie. The words come from his poem The Powwow at the End of the World.  Check it out.  I dedicated my piece to him this week.  It is my current favorite amongst all of my poems, and I marvel at the magic of the whirl.

I added hoops this week to make it a baker’s dozen.

Thanks for writing at the whirl,

Brenda Warren

Very late this week! I wrote it on Sunday but wasn’t too pleased, just reread and decided to post it anyway. I’d hate to miss a wordle! 🙂

My post is up and I’ve read and commented on everyone else’s posts to this point. Some great poems out of this wordle, but all that repetition of the word “hoops” compelled me to spend some time in my plastic circle of joy even though I’m still sick… 😉

Brenda, loved your poem. Reminded me of the movie Chocolat. Fun wordle too!

I love the poem I got out of this but I’ve only used two of the words 🙂

OK Brenda, it took me a while to get into the spirit, but I took your lead and used Sherman Alexie’s poem to move me along. It was a tough challenge to use all the words. Thanks!

Great words, Brenda. I have to get back to working on report cards. Will be back later to read poems.

  7. I really tried to fit “bolt” in, but couldn’t do it, agh! Nonetheless, I wrote from real experience. Getting up at 5 a.m., does change one’s outlook on life. What a wonderful time of day. Thanks Brenda.

Didn’t read the Alexi poem until after I had done most of my writing. Figured it might interlap and it did, in a strange way. Thanks for the words Brenda, and for being here,

Hi all, I loved these words and the Alexi poem. Thanks, Brenda! I will be back later to read and comment.

  11. Thanks Brenda, what a mix of words, the hoops was the difficult one! LOL
Off to read and comment some now. Have a great Sunday 🙂

The Alexie poem is great, Brenda. Title’s fantastic. I borrowed “a carton of eggs” from the sidebar quote as well.

I loved that it showed up in your piece, Irene. It made me think about all those words we read out there that enter our subconscious and pop up again. Since you’re on the early word list, I’m guessing you wrote it before you knew the wordle words were Alexie’s…and that makes me smile at the workings of the world. 🙂

Lovely Wordle words Brenda and a Haiku series from me to highlight some of the things that will happen around here in a couple of days!! “Diwali” ~ the festival of lights, will be celebrated here from the 26th~28th October!! That’s where the wordle words took me!! 🙂
