Wordle 16

This week I’m drawing attention to pieces by two of our wordlers. The detachment of existentialism resounds in Kelly’s piece Actors on her blog Stars and Willows. If you haven’t read the poem, you should. It was one of my favorite reads last week. Here is a taste:
I am breathing rain, dropping scars,
fearing fear, glancing
at my reflection in the mirror.

From Actors I took the words crawling, swept, cement, scars, sun, and tender.
Another piece that I loved last week was Magical Mystical Teacher’s piece imprecation. Her anger over a stolen guitar carries over into a rich set of well-delivered curses worthy of a read. A taste:
May someone drive bamboo splinters under your fingernails
so that every strum of the stolen strings is exquisite agony.
From imprecation I lifted the words prophets, rusty, morning, torments, walk, and notes.

I chose some words that might deliver a bit of darkness this week, although a few of the words carry light. Good luck wordlers, may flowers bloom from your bamboo-splintered fingernails.
Brenda

Sorry I haven’t been around last couple weeks. Work got crazy with summer madness and I was too tired to revise the poems. But this week I was able to revise my offering. And here it is –

    Dear Brenda
I find my poetic expressions moving towards religious connotations. Its all by the natural gift bestowed by the Almighty. The lines I managed are presented to your goodself. Its all because of your vision ,Thank You so much.

I am new to wordles, and am fascinated how everyone works them out and the words fit.

ok, I will try this again. These words inspired somewhat of a dark poem, but an issue needed to be addressed.

Oh, how exciting! Thanks for using my poem for the words this week, Brenda. And thanks also for your positive comments. I just noticed I used the word cement when I really meant concrete – always get those two mixed up. Oh well. I like the sound of cement better anyway! I will be back soon to post & participate.

Even though some of the Wordle words were “dark,” I don’t think “Praying in My Classroom” is too dark a piece. Please read it, and see what you think. I’d love to hear from you!

    • My comment wouldn’t work on yours for some reason, Paula- I typed, but the box remained blank! My comment would have been: Golly you were quick, and what a lovely scene you have created for us. I imagined a small boy, nappy at half mast, trailing his comfort blanket. I hope I haven’t totally misinterpreted your poem!!!!

  28. magicalmysticalteacher says:

I feel honored that you chose to lift a few words from “Imprecation” to include in this week’s Wordle. Thank you!
